Sometimes they find you

So on my last trip out to photograph the bears I was about to give up for the day. As I was hiking back to where I had parked I noticed a bear on the path. It was a fair distance away, and walking away from me so I couldn't get a real shot. As I quickened my pace I saw another vehicle come up and park at the end next to where I was parked. I thought "I bet that bear will turn around and head back this way"...and it did. So I found a shady spot in the tallish grass and waited. I periodically leaned out to monitor how close the bear was getting. On one of my times taking a peak I couldn't see it anymore. I leaned further out and all I could see was a man at the far end of the path. The bear must have scampered off into the woods. I hadn't really gotten any "good" shots all day so, and missing this opportunity had me feeling very disappointed.

I grabbed my water bottle I had sat next to me, and my camera. As I started to turn to stand I saw something out of the side of my eye. Not more than 30yds away coming down the path from the opposite direction I had been monitoring was momma and cub. Just as happy as could be strolling in the sun. I quickly aimed and started shooting. It was awesome!
