A fiery night...

My calendar was marked. I had my vacation days ready to get out for the start of the milky way season, and the Lyrid meteor shower. I decided to go to the same spot where I had taken one of my favorite milky way shots one year ago. Well the night was something totally different than what was on my shot list.

The Great Lake Fire in the Croatan National Forest danced across the lake that night. It was quite the sight.
